Moving Forward Together

"Hey, You will be managing this team, as I see you have it in you." my manager told me this during one of our one-on-one meetings. This entire meeting made me think, "Oh! I have it in me." Have you ever been to a place with people who recognize the best within you before you could? These "aha moments" are something one can experience as an employee at DhairyaDa.

It might seem like a tiny thing for some, but it was a big thing for me: Being recognized, being acknowledged, being able to perceive myself as I viewed myself. And no, it is not your classic blog about people- pleasing !!

This blog is about a workplace that fosters your growth and unveils your potential. Why am I emphasizing this today?

I have seen hundreds of psychology students entering the work field every year with a lot of confusion, anxiety, and uncertainty about the future and their work. Once they enter the workforce, they are disappointed by the structure and monotony the routine brings.

Many resources have covered the economic approach, application, interviews, and other aspects of it. There's this crucial aspect that often goes unaddressed—sustaining oneself in the demanding and emotionally taxing field of mental health.

Working in the mental health sector is not without its challenges. It can be emotionally draining, sometimes lonely, and the risk of feeling stagnant is ever-present. Being a part of DhairyaDa has taught me that it doesn't have to be this way. The key to sustained success in the mental health field lies in finding a workplace that not only recognizes your potential but actively contributes to your growth. The culture is about acknowledging the bad days and mistakes at work and moving forward with new learnings.

It is about creating an environment that helps you identify that you have strengths in the XYZ area, as well as that you need to work on these particular areas not to fall back. As the work is often demanding, it is necessary to strike that balance with a workplace that offers space that shapes the individual. A workplace where empathy is not limited to the therapy room, genuineness and priority are not just for talks is a kind of workplace everyone deserves. At DhairyaDa, every employee who has worked with the team can feel that the environment is designed to nurture the potential and support the well-being of clients and employees. In my journey at DhairyDa, I've come to see not only making a difference in other organizations but also being an integral part of change in my workplace as well, from ideas being entertained to conflicts being resolved.

We all are professionals working in a field that is booming and opens doors to all kinds of individuals and their thinking. Thus, mental health organizations run by mental health professionals everywhere should attempt to apply the principles of overall well-being and the ethos of mental well-being not just to their clients but to their employees as well. In organizational settings, success shouldn't hinge on one person's ascent up the ladder at the expense of others' hard work. Instead, it should thrive on a collaborative, hand-in-hand effort, where collective cooperation drives achievement and growth.

As I reflect on my journey at DhairyaDa, I can confidently say that it is possible to build a fulfilling and successful mental health career grounded in a supportive and growth-oriented work environment. The one that opens doors for people with talent and turns it into opportunities.

So, to those psychology students embarking on their professional journey, I offer this advice: Seek a workplace that not only aligns with your values and career aspirations but one that also recognizes and nourishes your potential. Look for a DhairyaDa in your career—a place where you are not just an employee but an integral part of a community that believes in your growth and actively contributes to your success. If you are not able to find one, build one :)

In conclusion, sustaining in the mental health field is not just about surviving; it's about thriving.
